Night Driving

Sniper X Reader

Headlights lit up the black pavement and any dust particles that were sent up flying from the tires sparkled like fairy dust in its beams. The pale blue moonlight caused large shadows to surround us, tall alpine trees looming and protecting the mountain side. The cool autumn air trickled in from were I had cracked the window earlier, enjoying the smell of earth, leaves, and pine. I smiled lightly at the caresses my face felt.

“Keep doing that and your going to catch a cold before we even get to the Fort.” My window was then rolled up, stifling the fresh source of wonderful smells.

“Sniperrrrrr!” I dragged out the r’s. “You’re killing the mood.”
He glanced over, his eyes now dark blue in the shadows. The pale green light from the radio system made them shine as some weird country song crooned through the speakers. I displayed my displeasure, but to no avail.

“Just lay back. We’ll be there in a few hours.”

Sighing, I rested my chin in my hand, looking at the world zoom by. It was lovely, traveling under the stars back to where we belonged. Not that my old home was bad or anything. But I could tell even Sniper was getting ruffled at his parents house, needing to feel the open dessert and hearing the screams of our fallen enemies. It was something we were breed to be in the end.

“Fine. Wake me if you need to swap driving.” I leaned over and kissed his cheek gently before laying my seat back some and relaxing. Having been on the road some time, I was getting tired, pulling Sniper’s jacket over my shoulder and breathing in his scent. The lull of the road slowly started to weasel its way into my body, rocking back and forth gently as I thought of home, the base, and my friends.

I smiled, thinking of how fun it must have been to see the Capitol with Soldier, or to see how Scout fared with the enemy Spy being in the same house as him. Man, we must spend next break together with just us, a vagabond group facing the world. Heh, I’ll bring it up when we see them. Maybe we could go to the beach or do a picnic…..Yawn……I’m getting…so sleepyyyy………….

-Out of your thoughts-

Sniper slowly let the gas up, watching as the Fort grew larger in size. It was still dark out, billions of star glistening in the midnight blue sky as he pulled the van up into Engineer’s garage and parked it. Some lights were on inside, a few notes of laughter heard through the glass as he pulled out the keys and took a moment to stretch his back. Man, did that seat shape his spine.

Looking over, he couldn’t help the lazy smile that infected his face as he watched her sleep, hair spilling around her shoulders and breathing gently in such a peaceful state. It would be a shame to wake her up, since she drove a good portion of the way when he rested his eyes. And most of the time, he had more energy then her when driving anyway. So it was no surprised she was knocked the heck out.

Debating his options, he just got up quietly and slowly wrapped his arms under her legs and neck. Lifting up, he made sure to hold her steadily, cradling her so close to him he could hear her heartbeat easily. A light grunt came from her as he tottered his way into the back, thinking in his head about how funny it would be to just toss her onto the bed without a care. But he instead placed her down like a fragile doll, pulling the covers up to her neck as she nudged into the pillows.

Hmmmmm……Maybe it would be best to just hit the hay now. There was time to talk to the others later. Right now, a certain someone called him to the mattress, cooing softly as she curled up under the sheets. Sniper kicked off his boots and took off his belt and shirt before settling under the blankets, pulling her close to him as he focused on her breathing, rhythmic and comforting.

Snuggling in her sleep, she nestled up into his arms, making it easier for him to kiss her forehead, close his eyes, and start to stray into the dream world he built up over the years, full of life and love that ______ had presented him since they met at the Base. It was a prefect world he wished he could show her, but he knew she experienced it everyday with him at her side, protecting their ‘family’ and trying to survive in the oddest of places.

He just hoped the driving didn’t take too much off them, or they would never leave the Base again.
I don't know about ya'll, but I love driving at night. Its so wonderful, especially when your wide awake and shaking from a buzz that came out of no where. Its the best feeling, and I can't get enough.
(Short story: Me and my morial always go out night driving for Faygo runs and stuff. So she plays dubstep as loud as her van can go, turns up the bass, and lets the music play as we go down the road. I'm not kidding, but my seat is vibrating and we're having the time of our lives. Best Morial Ever!! <> )

Anywhoo, this is only one story of my many Sniper drafts that I have, so expect alot coming in as time passes. Geesh! He is my plot bunny all the way!
